How to make homemade wine the easy way
To make homemade wine you will need one large 5 gallon container, fruit juice high in sugar, wine yeast or bakers yeast, a balloon, and a siphon or coffee strainer. Sterilize everything with boiling water. Fill the container but leave some air space. You can top it off with water if you run out of juice. If you use water add some dissolved sugar (300g per liter). Add yeast and shake the bottle really well. Put the balloon over the mouth of the container and let it sit for 24 hours. After the 24 hours the balloon should have started to inflate because of the carbon dioxide that is produced from the yeast eating the sugar. When this happens pierce 1-3 holes in the balloon. This creates an air lock. Carbon dioxide can escape but air can't get in because of the pressure. The yeast eating the sugar also creates the alcohol. Let the container sit for 30 days or until the balloon deflates on it's own. To kill off the excess yeast put the container in the freezer and let it freeze solid for two days. Then thaw the container out and siphon the wine into wine bottles leaving all the excess yeast and stuff in the bottom of the container. There is one more optional step that will make the wine clearer and taste better. You can buy a chemical called bentonite. Add the bentonite and after 7 days the wine will be crystal clear. If you're going to use this chemical wait to siphon and strain the wine until after this step. If you want a sweeter taste you can add a little undissolveable sugar. After adding the sugar stir it up really good and you are ready to enjoy your homemade wine.
